Continuing the collaboration to improve technical education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Educationโ€”Technical Education and Skills Development (MBHTE-TESD) participated in the Community College Administrator Program Alumni Symposium held by the U.S. Department of State, Florida State University and Santa Fe College last July 24โ€“27, 2023 at the Holiday Inn and Suites, Makati.

Last year, institutional leaders from CHED, TESDA, and vocational-technical educational institutions, including MBHTE-TESD Director and current Regional Manpower Development Center Administrator Dr. Jonaib Usman, visited Florida to participate in the Community College Administrators Program (CCAP). They were given a chance to conduct an intensive study of the community college model to help improve higher and technical education in the country.

The said symposium is the culmination of the CCAP with the Philippines. It allowed the CCAP alumni to showcase their learnings from the program. Dr. Jonaib Usman, the lone participant from BARMM, presented his paper entitled “Students Support Program and Services of TESDA Technology Institutions (TTI) in BARMM”. He is greatly honored to have participated in this program and grateful to MBHTE TESD Bangsamoro Director General Ruby Andong and MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal for their unwavering support.
