Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Education (TESD) participated in the Community College Administrator Program (CCAP)
For the continuous improvement of technical vocational education and training (TVET) delivery in the Bangsarmoro region, the Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Education (TESD) participated in the Community College Administrator Program (CCAP), an initiative of the U.S. Department of Stateโs Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs implemented by the Florida State University Learning Systems Institute on October 22 to November 20, 2022 at Tallahassee, Florida, United States of America.
Representing the MBHTE TESD, Director II Jonaib Usman, currently the Regional Manpower Development Center (RMDC) Administrator, attended the program together with the other TESDA Administrators from the various regions of the Philippines. Sponsored by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the CCAP is a five-week program for administrators and officials of post-secondary vocational-technical education where they receive training and conduct an intensive study of the role of U.S. community colleges in career and technical education in the United States.
Participants met with policy-makers, officials, administrators, faculty, staff, and students of Florida community colleges to gain insights on how the technical education system in Florida works. The program addressed topics such as governance, leadership, academic affairs, student affairs, employer engagement, workforce development, program assessment, and technology. Through this program the participants were given new knowledge and ideas that will enhance their ability to contribute to the further development of vocational-technical and higher education in the Philippines and the Bangsamoro region.
