MBHTE, Plan International, DAS-LGU sign memorandum of agreement.
To improve technical education in Datu Abdullah Sangki MunicipalityThe Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) and the Plan International, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on Monday, November 23, that will roll out convergence between two parties in the promotion, expansion, and realization of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at the community levels.
The agreement between MBHTE and Plan International will promote equal opportunity and inclusive training without prejudice to gender, impairment, age and other discriminatory practices. Plan International will also provide a 1-unit mobile training facility, a 14-footer wing-van, as a support to reach the vulnerable communities of the MBHTE-Technical Education and Skills Developmentโs program. “This memorandum of agreement is to formalize our collaboration that began with a conversation and has proceeded smoothly and fruitfully.
It is significant that we are strengthening our cooperation and collaboration especially at this time of the transition period,” said MBHTE Mohagher Iqbal. The agreement further highlights the following:1. Introduction of the digital life skills training platform on Planโs YES Academy to improve competencies of graduates2. Introduction of the Youth Employment Solution Monitoring and Evaluation (YESME) System for tracking and tracing of employment status of the graduates;3.
Promotion of Training and Employment Support Services Assistant (TESSA) chat bot that will assist job hunters.”No matter how challenging it gets, let us continue with our endeavor toward the betterment of the Bangsamoro community”, said Plan International, Inc. manager Jose Felipe Rebueno II. Meanwhile, the MBHTE entered into another MoA with Datu Abdullah Sangki Local Government Unit (LGU-DAS) to improve the TVET provision in the municipality.
“In behalf of the DAS municipality, I would like to thank the MBHTE for making our municipality one of the gateways towards an improved Bangsamoro region for our people, said DAS Municipality Mayor Datu Pax Mangudadatu. Stated therein, the DAS-LGU will donate 1-hectare lot for the construction of the Maguindanao Provincial Training Center at Barangay Taliwasa in DAS. The collaboration between the MBHTE and the DAS-LGU shall fully implement the community-based trainings especially in the conflict-affected areas.
