MBHTE-Tech.Ed. produces 3,453 graduates for 2021 first quarter
A total of 3,453 trainees from the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education’s (MBHTE) Technical Education and Skills Development (TESD) have graduated from the different programs under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses in the entire region.
With a certification rate of 85.4%, 3,142 out of 3,679 persons who have undergone National Competency Assessment are now certified competent skilled workforce in their respective area of skills training.
Despite the challenges brought upon by the pandemic, the MBHTE ensures continuous delivery of skills training in the region through BARMM and nationally funded scholarship programs in the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, including the Special Geographic Area of North Cotabato.
To date, BARMM-funded scholarship programs produced 1,410 graduates and 2,006 enrollees from the different TVET qualifications and programs.
Special clients are also one of the priority recipients of the free skills training where most of the clients come from the indigenous people and cultural communities, fisher-folks and farmers, out-of-school youth, and MILF members.
In addition, TESD scholarship programs such as Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA), Skills Training for Employment Program (STEP), Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), and Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) continue to support Bangsamoro constituents and has produced 2,043 graduates from 3,945 enrollees for the first quarter of the year.
Looking forward to a fruitful year, TESD directorate of the education ministry shall continuously serve and ensure that no Bangsamoro will be left behind in the provision of TVET.
