MBHTE TESD in partnership with Islamic Relief Worldwide – Philippines (IRW-PH) conducts Graduation for 166 TVET Scholars
Cotabato City— Nov. 18, 2020 —The Technical Education and Skills Development in BARMM in partnership with Islamic Relief Worldwide – Philippines (IRW-PH) conducted graduation for 166 out-of-youth scholars who successfully finished the 3-month training for different TVET qualifications.
The beneficiaries are scholars of the BARMM Scholarship Program for TVET who came from different municipalities of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Piang Maguindanao, and Datu Hoffer Ampatuan who took courses in Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Plant Crops Production NC II, Land Preparation, Organic Agriculture, Dressmaking NC II, Driving NC II, and Carpentry NC II. The graduation theme “Peace through Livelihood Opportunities for the Youth” was held in Datu Saudi Ampatuan municipality on Nov. 18.
The IRW- Philippines provided group starter kits to help the graduates jumpstart their livelihood activities after training. The starter kits may include sewing machines, gas stove oven, cooking utensils, carpentry tools, and organic fertilizer, knapsack sprayers, gardening tools, and seeds depending on the course they graduated from.
“This scholarship training and starter toolkits will be the start for you to have a progressive life through the skills that you have acquired during the training.” Said Ruby Andong, Bangsamoro Director General Designate of MBHTE TESD, who gave her message of inspiration to the scholars.
The Program Manager of IRW-Philippines, Christopher Estallo, gave the closing remarks to the graduates by encouraging them to close their eyes and see what their future would become with the right skills, attitude, and knowledge.
